There was a man ...
who went to a psychiatrist because he couldn't decide whether he was a tepee or a wigwam. His psychiatrist exclaimed, "I know what is wrong with you - you are two tents." Since we all know what it is like to be too tense, I have changed my mind at the last minute, and I have decided to devote this web page to the study of tents - just kidding! Actually, there are some interesting things to know about tents. The Apostle Paul was a tentmaker. Tents convey a message of temporary visits. I am in this world temporarily - it is not my permanent home. As I drive by the fast food places and other businesses, I become lonely - perhaps, I'm homesick. Jesus Christ saved me, and I have a permanent, eternal home. I know I can talk to God about any problem at any time. When doubts plague me, I can ask God to help me with my unbelief. A book I recommend is Freedom From Fear; Overcoming Worry & Anxiety by Neil T. Anderson and Rich Miller. I like this book because it has personal stories about people who are struggling just like us. It also has some helpful steps to follow to obtain some peace. I know that studying the Bible with Pastor Rod has helped me tremendously. God transforms me by the renewing of my mind. (Romans 12:2) I am smiling more. Speaking of smiling, Pastor Rod and Pastor Snapp, who is the counselor at Green Valley Church, often say things in a certain way that makes me smile. Pastor Rod expresses his love and concern for people by spending much time studying and preparing for his sermons. He has also spent time with me, and we have discussed OCD. Pastor Rod doesn't have OCD, but he has had intense struggles with fear and anxiety. He cares about people who are tense like us. He would like to share his story with you.
